For those who have experienced this mental state, it is one of the most effortless, peaceful, meditative and at the same time elevates you to the highest physical performance of the body.  In this state all your physical systems, your heart beat, blood pressure, lung function, muscle contractions are complete synchronized with what your brain effortlessly and instinctively instructs your body to do.  The result, bliss, ecstasy, elation! You lose track of time because of the immersive experience.  Everyone who observes an individual in flow immediately recognizes the excellence and beauty of the performance, whether it be in sports, music or any other display of peak performance and it becomes an inspiration.  It can be done in front of a crowd, or can be experienced alone during practice or play.  Once you experience it, you will be on a buzz equivalent of 50 espressos, but without the shakes or caffeine crash.   All your stress will disappear and it is a very healthy and positive way to cope with the challenges of modern day life.  Your body and soul will thank you for it.

 Flow and Freedom:

Some say it takes 10 000 hours of practice to get to this level, with excellent nutrition and under the watchful mentorship of a highly experienced and competent coach.  There are some individuals that build upon their natural skills and become elite performers, while others remain in different leagues.  Whatever the level, what is important is the feeling that the individual gets when experiencing this state of mind.  Being in the Flow sparks neural networks and pleasure centers of the brain as well as bringing about a deep sense of relaxation; and those that experience flow are deeply satisfied with this feeling and keep searching for methods to get it.   It becomes something that you will constantly look for, a necessity of life. This type of creative self expression is directly correlated with satisfaction and fulfilment driving the individual closer to the ultimate goal of freedom. Tips on finding Flow Experiences:

Now imagine bringing this state of mind and concept into your daily life and tapping into the positivity it brings out.  You can deeply immerse yourself in a interesting book, listen to inspirational music (or just hard rock music and headbang singing as loud as you can in your car!), work intensely with a collaborative/encouraging team to achieve, play with a wild child (and try to keep up), have deep talks with wise elders, draw, paint, get into extreme sports or whatever allows you to fully immerse in the experience and go with it! The possibilities to get in the ‘flow’ are endless.
